Have you ever dreamed of travelling in time, to be in the past in 1219 for one moment, and then whirl into the future and look at the events waiting for the mankind in 2219? Or maybe you want to sneak on ancient tower staircases not knowing who or what is waiting you behind the corner?
During this excursion we will explore the most beautiful places of ancient Tallinn and hear its most thrilling stories. When the town on the ground is explored, the way will take us underground – from the Kiek in de Kök Tower the journey in underground tunnels will take us through the past.
The Description of the Tour
Hidden tunnels were built in the Bastions’ embankments to make the relocation of soldiers, ammunition and other supplies hidden from enemies and protected from their fire. The tunnels also had the task of espionage – they were used to observe the underground laying the mines by enemies.
After getting acquainted with the towers we will head underground. The Exposition „Historical Trip. Tallinn 1219-2219“ will tell us about waging war in old Tallinn, it will give us the picture about the plague and famines and introduces the crimes and punishments in the medieval town. In the unique Arms Chamber the enthusiasts can have a look at different arms and try their hands on a21210 shooting stimulator. From the cafe on the 6th floor unique sights to Toompea, Downtown and the port can be seen.
