Walking in the Old Town

Have you ever dreamed of walking in an old city with its medieval milieu – red tiled roofs, mysterious half-hidden courtyards, endless stairs and an adventure packed history?

We will start from Tallinn’s Upper Town, passing ancient walls and towers. We will admire the Tall Hermann Tower from which flies the national blue, black and white flag. Walk up Toompea Hill to Palace Square to view the baroque Toompea Castle, now the residence of the Estonian Parliament, and to visit the Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, a dominating feature of Upper Town’s city skyline and home to numerous golden icons and mosaics.

From there, walk along Tallinn’s medieval cobblestone streets to visit the (except during the services) Gothic Dome Church, known as St. Mary’s Cathedral. Then will descend via Short Leg Street to the Lower Town, to continue our tour with visit to the Town Hall Square and view the exterior of the Gothic Town Hall.Later you will have opportunity to visit Dominican Monastery. Continue your walk along St. Catherine’s Passage where shopping and browsing opportunities at the local craft workshops (including glass, leather, millinery and ceramic wares) wait you. After this you can enjoy exploring more of Tallinn by yourself.
